Deploy Power BI Dashboards Internally and Externally without User Licensing

View Presentation Watch Video

Power BI is an amazing tool for visualizing data in meaningful ways, allowing business users to make informed decisions. Vast amounts of data can be aggregated from a wide variety of sources, and turned into easily understandable dashboards, reports, and visualizations (charts, tables, maps, etc.). Licensing of the tool can be a challenge for many organizations, but we'll explore a very cost-effective option for providing Power BI to all users, both inside and outside your organization.

There are multiple different options for licensing Power BI in your organization as well as providing rich reports out to your external users. These license models have advantages and disadvantages depending on your organization and who you would like to consume the reports. For full details on the available options, please refer to our Microsoft Power BI Versions and Licensing Envision IT article.

We've built a new Data Portal product in our EUM Portal that leverages Power BI Embedded to offer reports to your users as they're requested in an optimized fashion. Instead of running the service 7/24, it only wakes up when users request to view reports, and suspends it again after an hour of inactivity. This is a huge opportunity to unleash the potential for Power BI in your organization in a cost-effective way.

In this webinar we will review:

  • Power BI Overview
  • Power BI Licensing Models
    • Per-User Pro and Premium
    • Power BI Premium Per Capacity
    • Power BI Embedded
  • Building Applications with Power BI Embedded
    • Microsoft Docs guidance
